And it happened. The sky erupted, breaking the void of the starless night with imploding flames. Like birthday confetti to the children playing uphill, like a hunter's gun to the startled birds fleeing to someplace else, someplace warm and nice and quiet.
Then, something broke in his head. A wall, perhaps. A barricade broken, a gate reopened. He could've sworn he locked the door and nailed it shut. But once again, it gets torn off its hinges as an old, familiar friend worms its way back into the barren and ready spot in his head.
Eight-hundred and seventy-nine days. The voices have been quiet for that long, only so long. The streak was made to be broken. Doomed to be broken today.

Something bumps into him, knocking all the wind out of his lungs. There is a child currently hugging him, although their height is half of his own, they're clutching onto him tightly and effortlessly. Wait. He recognises this child. He had loved this child, he had failed this child, he had lost this child.
“Tommy?” Techno manages to croak out, voice itching his bloodsoaked throat. He runs his fingers through the kid’s sunbeam strands, something he couldn't do often back..there. He is quite unsure whether he is in a dream or not. The verge of his cognizance, wishful thinking, remorseful lamentation.
“Hi,” Tommy tilts his head to look him in the eye. “I missed you! Phil said you wouldn't be back until tomorrow. You came back early for me, didn't you?”
“..Where did I go?”
“What do you mean? You literally left three days ago because you made a bet with Niki that you could find a polar bear nearby. You haven't forgotten, have you?”

After his execution, Techno spends his time in limbo. Except his limbo is his childhood town where he had lived with Tommy, Niki, and Phil.

“Tommy,” Techno’s frown grows even bigger. “Wilbur is dead.”

But no, it is his brother. His head was bowed down, drooping. Tommy feared he might fall off his horse.
He approaches carefully. He does not know who is the scared animal in this situation.
“..Techno?” Tommy calls.
The piglin hybrid tilts his head up ever so slightly. “Tommy. What are you doing here?”
