DISCLAIMER: I am not American. However, as a Haitian-Canadian-Québecoise who was always juggling between her Haitian family, her very white environment and everything in between, it was very important to me to show Shay's code-switching. But like I said, I am not American and my level of AAVE is basic at best so there will be mistakes. If anyone sees glaring ones, please leave a comment or DM me.
I also gave Jason a Gotham/Crime Alley accent that I based on New Jersey accent but, again my grasp on those accents is basic so feel free to point out the glaring mistakes.

DISCLAIMER 2: While the story is mostly based in Batman Wayne Family Adventures universe, just because of the level of healthy relationships in it, I picked and chose my canons (like I do in all my DC fics ngl). So Jason is still a crime lord at the same time as being a vigilante because I can, and Bruce is still very emotionally constipated (more than in BWFA but less than in 90% of other comics), and other things that either you'll discover as it goes, either aren't important to this story, either I cannot recall right now.😅
As I am a visual person, I based myself on this old map for localization wise. The only thing I added to it was Chinatown and the Marina based on Robin: Tim Drake because all cities need a Chinatown and that I find it hilarious that Tim is living on a boat on the most polluted river ever.
Also, Crime Alley isn’t referring just to Park Row but to all that neighbourhood. I thought of switching up for the Narrows but, again, couldn’t find a good map. 🤷🏾‍♀️
