Summary
Stumbling out of bed, Neal made it as far as his kitchen before he was throwing up into the sink. His head was pounding and he winced as he gagged, wishing he hadn’t had so much wine last night at dinner with Peter, Elizabeth, and Mozzie.

The start of term feast was one of Harry’s favorite parts about school starting back up, but he was starting to fear that he’d overdone it this time around. He wasn’t used to eating so much with the Dursleys and it was catching up to him. Quickly.

It hit Dean like a ton of bricks while he was sitting in his study hall, the second period of the day. He was reading a book for his English class when all of a sudden he felt god-awful. His whole body ached, he was freezing cold, his throat hurt, and his head was throbbing.

Summary
Merlin groaned again and pulled away from Arthur as he woke up. “Ugh,” he said, bringing a hand up to rub at his head.
“What’s wrong?” Arthur pulled back a little to give Merlin some space.
Merlin pushed himself up and leaned back against the headboard. “Great. I’ve gotten a cold for my birthday,” Merlin said. He coughed harshly into his fist and let his head thunk back against the wood of the headboard.

Summary
Wincing, Harry maneuvered his broom so that he could watch the rest of the Gryffindor team running plays below him. He’d had a stomach ache all day but it was really bothering him all of a sudden. Like, quite suddenly, actually. He realized that he should probably get closer to the ground in a hurry when he felt the contents of his stomach lurch into the back of his throat.

As he watched the flames crawl and snake over the logs, Neal felt something in his chest tighten. All the muscles that had relaxed while he ate dinner tensed back up, and he suddenly felt like he couldn’t breathe.

Summary
“Ya okay, kid?” Bobby asked, coming up behind Dean. Sam was bringing up the rear, not all too pleased to be dragged out of the house early on a Saturday morning.
Dean nodded. He tried to get his breathing under control so Bobby wouldn’t freak out at him. He’d promised Bobby that he would take it easy so that his asthma wouldn’t act up, but here he was, wheezing and huffing and puffing, his asthma very much acting up.

Summary
Severus looked Harry over, noting the slight flush on his cheeks and the way his eyes appeared glassy. “Is there something you need?”
“Yeah, actually. I was wondering if I could get a Pepper-Up? I’m not feeling very well,” Harry admitted, his cheeks burning as he said it.
“What’s the matter?” Severus asked, flicking his wand and shutting his office door for some privacy.

Summary
They walked together in silence out to Peter’s car, and rode most of the way to Brooklyn the same way, with the radio playing softly in the background.
“So,” Peter started as he pulled to a stop at a red light.
Neal just raised his eyebrows in question. His throat was really starting to bother him.
“What’s the matter?” Peter decided to just rip the bandaid off and get to the point.
Neal sighed, coughing a little as the air rushed out of his throat. “I think I’m coming down with something,” Neal replied.

Summary
Neal woke up about to vomit for the second time that day. Feeling his heart rate increase with panic, Neal looked around for something to throw up in; he didn’t think he would make it all the way up the stairs to the bathroom. Thankfully, El had planned for this instance and had set a metal mixing bowl next to the couch for Neal if he needed. And boy did he ever.

“Feeling any better?” Peter asked once he saw Neal’s eyelids flutter open from where he had been sleeping on Peter’s shoulder.
Neal sat up, stretching out the crick in his neck, and thought for a minute. “Yeah, actually.”
Grabbing the thermometer, Peter reached out and placed the tip of it in Neal’s ear. “Still too warm,” Peter said, frowning.

“You okay?” Peter asked once they were headed in the direction of Riverside Drive.
“Yeah.” Neal watched the city go by outside the window and was grateful that Peter gave him rides almost everyday so that he didn’t have to use public transportation.
“El asked about you. She called me earlier and mentioned that Mozzie needed her chicken noodle soup recipe.”

Summary
As the evening wore on, Neal finished one beer and then another, ready to call it a night and head home. He stood from his barstool and nearly face planted on the sticky floor. Something wasn’t right. Grasping the edge of the bar tightly, Neal brought his free hand up and rubbed at his eyes, trying to make the world stop spinning. His limbs felt like lead and he was sure that if he tried to speak his words would slur despite only having two beers.
“Neal?” Peter furrowed his brow at Neal’s reaction.
“P’ter,” Neal mumbled. “Think I got d-drugged.”

“Honey, he’s sick,” El said, a frown spreading across her face. She turned to face her husband, cornering him in the kitchen.
“Who, Neal?” Peter paused, his hand halfway to his mouth with a slice of cheese.
“Yes!” El swatted him with the dish towel she was holding.

“Arthur?” Merlin asked as he came into the room with a tray full of food. “Are you alright, love?” It was unusual for Arthur to need a midday nap, and Merlin began to worry that maybe Arthur was coming down with something.
“My body is one big ache,” Arthur murmured from under his blankets. He was still shivering, despite the layers of blankets atop him.

“You know, there’s probably some sort of tracking device in that vaccine the FBI made you get,” Mozzie said as he and Neal walked down the street.
Neal rolled his eyes. “The FBI isn’t making me do anything, I’m choosing to get a flu shot so that I don’t spread the flu around the office.” Neal adjusted his hat and smiled at Mozzie’s look of horror.

Summary
“You can’t go to school, Sammy, you have a fever.” Dean stepped in to try and get his brother to calm down before he had a full blown meltdown.
“I have to! I don’t have a doctor’s note and if I don’t have one then my absence isn’t excused and I could lose my spot on the debate team or the basketball team or the math team!”
Dean could see Sam shaking with emotion from across the kitchen. He crossed the room in four steps and pulled Sam into a hug. “Sammy, you need to go back to bed. None of those things will happen, I promise.”
