Korra smiles at her, all her tension gone, and Asami leans down and kisses the lines at the top of her tattoo, feather-light.

Asami's lip trembled, and Korra pulled her into a hug. She felt Asami bury her face in her shoulder, take a couple of shaky breaths.
“Right up until she died,” she finished, in a whisper, and Korra held her tighter.
