Description:

This is an ongoing series of stories which reimagines the iconic relationship shared between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson as a deeply committed, if imperfect, romance. While never explicitly stated, it is heavily implied that Holmes is autistic and leans to the asexual side of the sexuality spectrum. I wanted to make smut that depicted a realistic and compassionate version of sexual intimacy for people with sensory issues and/or non-traditional patterns and preferences. Not only am I autistic myself, but I absolutely detest - down to the very marrow of my bones - the utterly dehumanizing, violent, mechanical, unenjoyable, misogynistic mess that is internet porn. I crave intimacy and authenticity, and It is my hope that these stories are loving, accepting, kind, and intimate, while still being sexy and fun to read.

If you're a music nerd like me, here is a link to a playlist of all the songs quoted in this series, which I will keep updated as long as I'm writing new stories.

Notes:

This series grew out of an experiment with narrative therapy which my therapist had suggested to me, knowing that I tend to regulate myself via creative pursuits. By using the armature of the character Sherlock Holmes, I've realized that I'm giving myself plausible deniability to really look at many of the things I've struggled so long to accept about myself; whenever I get uncomfortable I can hide behind Doyle's character by reminding myself that I'm just writing a Sherlock Holmes fanfic, right? I'm currently 12 stories in, and it feels like I'm scraping my brain and soul clean, it's been quite liberating.

I've been extremely, humbly pleased by the feedback I've gotten from other divergent people who find these stories meaningful, and I kind of feel like I'm on a therapeutic journey with a bunch of people now, and I would almost even say this has been a redemptive experience for me. I am grateful for having gone through all of life's bullshit struggles if my experiences can somehow be of use to others, and I am grateful to be able to put into words some of the challenges divergent people sometimes experience when it comes to intimacy.

These stories are hugely intertwined with my own personal therapy and are meant to be therapeutic for others who may be on the spectrum, to be a safe and accepting way to explore and enjoy intimacy for people who may be uncomfortable or inexperienced with it, or who have been made to think they should sacrifice their own comfort/pleasure to the phony idea of sex put forth in the media.

I read these out loud to my partner, because he is Watson irl and he knows it. In some ways this is my love letter to him, as odd as that sounds.
