Summary
Ichigo sleeps, obviously, but—first with the nightmares of his mom dying, and needing to take care of the girls in the middle of the night when they were little, and then Isshin’s increasingly aggressive “training” over the years—he doesn’t sleep deeply. Not in his own house, and certainly not anywhere outside of it either. He’s learned to get shut eye when and where he can, but he’s never so deep under that he can’t snap to awareness in an instant if he needs to.
It often leaves him feeling restless, a little strung out and tense, but it’s fine. He’s gotten used to it. He’s long-since learned how to walk the knife’s edge of exhaustion.
But.
But not at the Urahara Shoten, apparently.

Summary
“What do you need?” Kisuke asks without hesitation. His curiosity—and concern—is piqued. Besides, he owes Ichigo more than he can ever repay, and more than that, Ichigo is…well. Ichigo is his.
His student. His protégé. In some ways, his creation, though he’s grown beyond what Kisuke ever imagined.
His in other ways, too, though those are less clearly defined.
“I’d rather not say over the phone,” Ichigo hedges, and that’s probably not good. There’s a hesitation there, and then a sigh. “You know what, sorry. I’ll figure it out. I don’t know what I was thinking—”
“Where are you?”
---
OR:8 months after Ichigo loses his powers fighting Aizen, Kisuke gets an unexpected phone call. Once again, Ichigo's found himself in danger. Only this time, he's been dealing with it alone. That's unacceptable, as far as Kisuke is concerned.

Summary
“Our lease is up at the end of next month. I know it’s short notice, but Orihime and I—we’d like to move into our own place together.”
“Oh. Is that all?”
Honestly, he’s been expecting this for a while now. Orihime spends more time here than at her own place, more time here than Ichigo does.
Ichigo can afford to get his own place if he looks for something small. It’s not like he’ll be there much anyway, since he’s just going to keep going over to the Shoten with or without the excuse of avoiding overhearing his friends having sex—
Or, I could just ask to move in, Ichigo thinks. It’s not like it’d be much different from what I’m doing now.
He’s pretty sure Kisuke will let him. The only down side is that there’ll be no running away to hide for a week whenever he's reminded he loves Kisuke so much that it hurts, but Ichigo can deal with that.

OR:
Ishida and Orihime have a lot of sex. In an effort to avoid overhearing them, Ichigo starts spending more and more time at the Shoten until he eventually just moves in. It would be fine, if not for the fact that Ichigo has some inconvenient feelings of his own.prompt: Moving in together

Summary
“We finally meet, Kurosaki-san,” the entitled man drawls. “After all this time. And to think, you’re barely more than a boy…how odd.”
What the fuck? Ichigo thinks, more than a little confused. For starters, he’s never seen this man before in his life, has no idea who he could be.
And secondly, Ichigo is 26, for fuck’s sake. He hasn't been a boy in a long time.
“What trouble you’ve caused me,” the man continues. “I admit, I first thought you to be some sort of superstition—or perhaps, even, the byproduct of my men’s overactive imaginations. How could one unarmed man take on a dozen with weapons and come out the victor? How could a single man hold all of Karakura, uncontested?”
Ichigo sighs. This is starting to look like it’ll take him a bit longer than he thought.

Summary
“They want me to get married,” Ichigo says with the sort of bewildered offense that he often wears after returning from Seireitei. Specifically, whenever he’s been handed orders from Central 46 that he deems bullshit, and which he’s going to do his damnedest to get out of.
“Did they say who they had in mind?” Kisuke asks, curious. And besides, it’s never too early to start planning how to eliminate a target, should such a thing become necessary.
“They’re trying to marry me off to Byakuya." Ichigo's face is scrunched up. Confusion or disgust—or some blend of both, ideally.
“Probably because you insist on calling him by his given name,” Kisuke says, aiming for teasing and landing a little too close to bitter, instead. It’s been years. Years. And Ichigo still predominantly calls him Getaboushi or Urahara.
---
OR:
Central 46 gets it into their heads that Ichigo would be easier to control if he was married off to someone in the Gotei. Kisuke would rather pull an Aizen and kill every last one of them than let that happen. Luckily, Ichigo is--more or less--of the same mind.for the prompt: devotion
