Summary
'Angels are watching over you' were the very last words Mary Winchester said to her son Dean on the night she died. A kiss to his forehead and she left the house, only to die in an accident. Right?
Dean wakes up in the hospital where he was sure he had been before, but he doesn't remember for sure. His mom is there, his brother is there, but someone is missing and he just can't remember who. Why can't he remember someone he surely has a connection with and why does his head begin to hurt when he tries to remember?
Of course Dean begins to realize something is wrong and this apple-pie life he's living isn't the right one. He's missing something, someone. A certain feathered friend.

With a 'yes', Dean Winchester is returned to reality, returned to his guardian angel; things aren't how they're supposed to be though. He was warned, warned that things would be different as time worked at a different pace in Heaven and on Earth. Castiel was different, he was broken and he was missing memories.
With the threat of the Archangels gone, Dean is determined to get his life back in order and his life includes Castiel, memories or not. The first step is to get Castiel back to proper health, but of course nothing is ever that easy when Dean is the only human with a fragment of angelic Grace within him.
