Zack's cut off by a high pitched whine, and the elevator rattles. Cloud's stomach floats.
Cloud's lives an exceptionally busy life. Busy enough to stave off loneliness, most of the time. Maybe being stuck in a lift with a broken phone and a pretty stranger is life's way of telling him to take a break. He can't be blamed for acting on the opportunity, especially not when Zack's desperate for a distraction.
