“Don’t.” Michael warned, “Don’t speak empty apologies. Don’t feed me false niceties. Words mean nothing. They can always be changed, taken back, ignored, forgotten.” A laugh that he didn’t truly feel came out, something he couldn’t stop, “Except by me. I always remember. I remember everything. Every drop of blood I’ve spilled, every person I’ve killed and enjoyed watching die at the end of my blade. I’m not a guiding star anymore, Lucifer. I’ve become a black hole that destroys anything that tries to get close. §ð §†å¥ åwå¥ £rðm mê!”
‘Christ, Michael. What have they done to you up there?’ Lucifer looked into wild blue eyes and knew that the Seraphim of Justice might call himself a black hole, but he wasn’t, not yet. He was frighteningly close to that tipping point though, and whatever happened in the next few seconds could be the difference between keeping his brother in one piece or finding out if anything would survive long enough to escape the event horizon.
