Rumi didn’t know what to say to that. The words hung heavily between them as they both watched the crew wrap up with the final models.
“I wanted to…” she tried, clearing throat before she spoke again. “Back with the PA. You know you didn’t have to do that, I was going to”
Mira shrugged, cracking her knuckles as a way to fill the gaps while she thought of what to say.
“I know”
“Then why did you?” Rumi followed quickly, genuinely curious as to why this woman was so bent on making sure no one was left unprotected.
“Probably because I’ve been that person,” she shrugged again, chewing the inside of her cheek.
Rumi finds a striking model and half-falls for her and half thinks she hates her.
