But if he didn't do this, he would never have the chance to find out — that he didn't actually want to do it.It was an absurd circle. He had trapped himself inside it. Now he stood at the center of that circle and saw that the start and the end were the same point — he wanted to live. He wanted to live with them.
He had spent so long writing so many pages of plans, buying what he needed, erasing his traces, trying to disappear from this world in the calmest, least burdensome way possible. But in the end, he still wanted love. Still wanted to be seen. Still wanted to have those two hold his hands and hear them say, "You're alive."

"Ichigo ichie (いちごいちえ)"is a Japanese term originating from the tea ceremony. It originally referred to the host's attitude of treasuring each encounter as "once in a lifetime, to be cherished in this world." Later, its meaning expanded to express that every meeting in life is an unrepeatable occasion, and thus should be approached with sincerity and respect.
_____Suo Hayato knew these winding streets as intimately as his own veins — in a way, both had shaped his body. The air of Bankoku-gai pulsed through his blood. He led his two friends through his past.

Sakura-kun was dozing off, and Nire-kun was taking notes. Then I'd wake up and realize it was just a dream, and... I'd sit there for a while."
Nirei knew he should say something — something light, like "Well, you don't have to dream about it anymore." He was good at that. But he found that he couldn't speak. Because that feeling Suo had just described was too familiar — during the time Suo was gone, he'd had those dreams too. He'd wake up before dawn, and the emptiness would keep him company until sunrise.

The three continued along the night road. The air was still thick and stifling, but the faint breeze from walking occasionally let a sliver of coolness slip between their clothes and skin. There were hardly any pedestrians left, most shops had pulled down their shutters, with only a few convenience stores and pharmacies still lit.
Suo remarked that tomorrow would be even hotter, and Nirei picked up the thread, talking about the heatwave warnings he'd seen on his phone, and how the new shaved ice shop nearby supposedly had good matcha flavor. Sakura didn't say much, but he walked a little slower, as if not in a hurry for this walk to end.Series
