Hi, so what if Mozart did finish the Requiem? What if he finished it and we just don't have it any more? Salieri and Mozart did indeed finish the Requiem Mass commissioned by van Wolsegg. The last parts, from the Sanctus on, were never found and were presumed to have never been written. But they were written. Moments before death, Mozart bequeathed his last pieces of music to Salieri as a parting gift. In accordance with Mozart's wish they were never shared and never played publicly. The concluding pages of Mozart's Requiem were never recovered because Salieri burned them shortly before his own death. This is the story of their composition.

He wanted his genius, but also wanted him dead — wanted God dead — ; he wanted to save God from that sick body and wanted that sick body, he wanted him. And wanted him dead. He wanted to consume him. He wanted that sacred content to finally be poured into a form just as sacred: his own. And then people would immediately recognize in Salieri’s devoted body that divine talent — they would see the miracle of Sense. Hearing the music, they would picture no other body than his, in perfect harmony. At last, God would be playing on a tuned instrument. That was what he wanted!
