Being crown prince is full of privileges. Money, food, shelter, people who tend and catter to your every needs. But it does have its disadvantages. For example, on the political chess game. For example, when it comes to marriages.
No one has anything against homosexuality. Hell, the queen herself has had girlfriends, everyone knows that. But she got the job done and installed the monarchy: her lovers did not interfere with anything political. She was able to maintain a stable reign and rebuild what Lucien had destroyed, which is why she can't be held accountable for her many love affairs. The people are grateful for her actions.
With Logan, it's another story. Being the second generation of Sparrow's monarchy means being a proof that monarchies are meant to last or, opposed to it, doomed to fall. This is why loving someone with who he'd never be able to have a child might not be the greatest thing he's ever done. And Isles, heir to a noble family and Logan's childhood bestfriend, might be in the same situation. This leads the two of them to frequently talk about their distress when it comes to balancing expectations and lovelife.
