Summary
He’s always been one to see things clearly, rationally, fit the puzzle pieces in to step back and look at the big picture. Before Pete, he never let emotions rule his judgement, and still—he can never do anything outside of closed doors. He has a choice, now. Everyone has to start somewhere. A little push, a gentle nudge, kind eyes of someone who cares, sitting in the crook of a couch he knows like the back of his hand, that he helped pick out, amidst people who understand him. Everyone has to start somewhere, and so Kao grips his coffee and starts.
After Sandee's pregnancy scare, the truth revealing itself, and Pete and Kao coming out--Kao is unsure as to where he stands. He doesn't know how to be open. He thinks he doesn't know how to be brave. Over the course of a month, Kao learns that strength isn't something to be attained, rather something that has been hiding in him all along, simply waiting to rear its head.
