After rebuilding Etheria’s kingdoms and traveling throughout space, the Best Friend Squad hasn’t been able to find Eternia – the planet she comes from. That is, until someone drops a lead on how she could potentially get there. The planet calls her, but at what cost will she answer?
This story focuses on Adora and Catra’s journeys of discovering the parts of themselves that they haven’t had the time and space for during the main story. It’s a story about identity, community and acceptance.

“I avoid attachments and stimulating environments,” Adora says. “I practice daily meditation, and have mindfulness tools and breathing techniques on hand to manage unexpected triggers. My studies also help—ruminating on the vastness and complexity of the wider universe really puts individual concerns in perspective.”
“Sounds like a lot of work,” Catra says with a shrug. “Why not just blow the planet up?”

"Catra was out of ideas. She was supremely uninspired — battling writer’s block and feelings of inadequacy and a whole notebook’s worth of crappy attempts at new music. She wanted her band to make it big. She wanted it so bad she was willing to do something drastic… though this seemed a little extreme, in her opinion. The thought of anyone, ever, hearing any of her Adora-songs was mortifying. But she didn’t know what the fuck else to do."

Adora loves her family, and she loves her job. She doesn't love when her family forces her to do things take a vacation right before one of the most important launches of her career. The last thing she expects from this unwanted trip is to run into a ghost from Christmases past.
Catra has never been good at letting anything go. Hence her impulsively buying the Christmas tree farm from her childhood to save it from closure. But when the farm miraculously brings Adora back to her, she knows this time she will have to find a way to say goodbye gracefully. After all, Adora is only here until the holidays.

Set around 800 BBY, Adora and Glimmer head towards Malastare to take their final test needed to finally leave their days as Padawans behind them. But things go south, when both of them as well as every other Padawan taking this test gets attacked. After only barely surviving this, they are sent out by the Jedi High Council to find the conspirators behind this attack on the Jedi.
Meanwhile on the other side of the galaxy, Catra heads towards Ryloth to fulfill the task her Master, the Dark Lord of the Sith Hordak has given her, in a hope to finally prove herself worthy of more advanced teachings about the dark side of the Force and evetually rising up to the ranks of a Lord herself.
