Summary
The Red Kingdom was... demolished, to put it very bluntly, which was typically Nom's preferred way of going about things.
It saddened him to see so many dead, because of course it did, but Nom couldn't say that he wasn't used to the feeling. You got accustomed to that in a war zone, particularly when you'd been fighting in one for your entire life.

OR: I rewatched Bannerfall Capture the Flag and promptly decided that for game 3, I simply HAD to write an au where that's the actual kingdom lineup. Tags + the relationships being only f/f MIGHT change, as this will be a long ride.

Summary
Along the coast, hidden by sharp rocky outcrops, stood a monumental nation. The Blue Kingdom had, in the past, been unknown to most, burnt down time and time again in war. After centuries of endless fighting, peace had finally been agreed to. Trade and merchants replaced battle and armies, allowing the kingdom to finally prosper.
People came and went, the population always changing with new cultures and bonds, such that few inhabitants were actually Blue-born. Birth did not make Blue, however. To be part of the kingdom, you needed no more than to care for it. This love was not inherent, either.
Had it not been for the friends left behind, neither Nom nor Katie would have returned. Had it not been for the friends made since, Mae would never have stepped foot there again. Had it not been for their friends’ origins, Scott and 4C would never have visited.Or, the crew visits the Blue Kingdom. Owain, Graecie, and Shandrea shed some light on the past, elven cultures, and magic.

Mae wants to pay rent on time, to stop having stress headaches, and one normal week where nobody comments on how “sweet” he smells
Instead, he accidentally catches the attention of a vampire pack.
Now there are, expensive flowers appearing outside his apartment and six terrifyingly devoted people acting like Mae already belongs to them, which would be easier to process if the pack itself wasn’t completely insane.
One alpha watches Mae with calm, ancient possessiveness, another smiles while saying horrifying things in a velvet-soft voice, one reacts to danger like a feral guard dog, and one becomes emotionally unstable every time Mae looks scared. The omega makes captivity feel comforting, which is arguably the most disturbing part, and the beta is somehow the closest thing in the house to normal.
Meanwhile Mae is:
• spiralling slowly into prey-instinct paranoia
• uncovering evidence that vampires have existed far longer than anyone realizes

The Red Kingdom members backed off from the Shadows as CC laughed at their reactions.
Nom bristled, fully drawing out his axe. “I think you should leave, actually.”
