Summary
Is it weird to breathe without speaking? No longer feeling your body move with every inhalation, words backlit by only stillness? You reach up, and they lean down a little so you can trace the rings of cartilage that make up their trachea better, feeling so absurdly fragile beneath your touch, even though you know it'd take a fair bit of force to crack them. It seems impossible that you could wrap your hand around something like this and not destroy it.
Winona tries taking something apart instead of putting it back together, for once. WX helps out.

Click.A faint mechanical whirr. A slight stutter of static. Then, the feed kicks in—blurry at first, then clearer. The frame jitters with movement.
“Is it on?”
Tap. Tap.
“Did it work? Hello? Hellooo—oh! Oh, it’s working!”
A young, excited voice, tinged with mechanical undertones: subtle clicks and low shutter-whirrs riding beneath every syllable. The view swings wildly before settling on a dim interior—homey, metal-paneled walls, a low-hanging vine of bioluminescent Protector Root glowing faintly in the corner.
“Keph? Is everything alright?” his mother called from somewhere off-screen, her tone edged with worry—a sharp contrast to the sheer delight blooming in Keph’s chest.
He could feel the new system stirring to life within him.

The Shutterbugs have long fascinated xenobiologists and sociocultural researchers for their biomechanical adaptations, especially their intrinsic photographic abilities. Yet even more remarkable than their biology is what they have built from it: a society that reveres memory as if it were sacred, and treats the act of seeing—and being seen—as both art and legacy.
This paper is not exhaustive. No outsider’s account ever truly is. But it is honest, and—like the Shutterbugs themselves—it aims to preserve what it has witnessed, frame by frame.

Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann began his monumental novel ‘The Magic Mountain’ in 1913, but was forced to put the writing on hold from 1915 to 1919 before resuming and finally completing it in 1924. We, too, are obliged to pause work on our present novel - a frivolous parody of The Magic Mountain with far more subversive ambitions - due to other projects. Still in the early correction phase, the text lacks stylistic polish, and some parts will even have to be repositioned or deleted altogether. However, although it is far from finalised, the book already contains a number of scenes that are well advanced and have a lively entertainment value, which the lady reader may wish to enjoy. For this reason, we have decided to provide a modest insight into the current status of our endeavours here and to make some passages available ahead of time - also in the hope that one or two lady readers might feel like contributing to the maturation of the work with a few emendations.
