At that point, we will give them over to a foster family(s). We cannot guarantee that they will all stay together if this occurs, so we have notified you in an effort to keep them together.
If you are unable to take custody of the children by the specified date, please respond to this letter with either your refusal or willingness to take them in.I look forward to hearing from you quickly.

What if the brothers split apart before their absent mother dropped off Baby Branch’s egg, when Floyd was still the youngest?
What if a young Floyd was abandoned by his brothers, left to wonder if they’d ever come back, with only his Grandma to keep him company?
He’d probably feel pretty alone. At least, until a certain egg shows up…
OR
Floyd basically ends up raising Branch while trying to heal from his family abandoning him. Oh, and, the other brothers have no idea Branch exists. Floyd-centered, because his role deserves more recognition.

Summary
Branch’s eyes go wide. Poppy starts to push herself up on an elbow,
“Bra-?”
Branch throws himself across the room with a cry of pure rage. Poppy shoots to her feet. She barely sees a blur of blue tackle something purple, and then there’s a lot of distracting screaming-
“Wha’s goin on?”
“I don-!” Poppy cuts herself off. She sees violet skin and teal hair, and in one second her confusion flips into a terrible, cold understanding.
“Geoff me!” Creek yells, because Branch is wrestling him, and he’s dealing with it because he’s Branch and he can do anything-
“Branch, the hell are you doing?” John Dory yells, and Poppy thinks she should explain-
But then Poppy sees something green snaking around the back of Branch’s neck, and everything goes red.
JD hauls Branch off Creek, both brothers cursing readily, and Creek manages two ragged breaths and half a smug smile-
-Before Poppy tackles him.
---I tried to make a “trolls watch trolls” fic, but it evolved into some other monstrosity so now were watching EVERYONEs pasts, theres a bunch of weird meta jokes, and i need to be hit with a shovel.
Also creek is there and poppy makes a genuine attempt to kill him

Summary
It's very hard for people to overcome first impressions. Not impossible, but difficult. When the first impression isn't the one you expected it to be, sometimes the false impression overwrites - but when the first impression is too blunt, too bold, too brutal to ignore? Well, that changes how you think of something. Or, in this case, someone.
Alternatively, my take on how Trolls: Band Together might have gone differently with a few tripped triggers and a Poppy more aware of just how badly Branch had been wronged, because she always did just want him to be happy.

Here's an question for you all;
What if DJ was old enough to remember living in the Troll Trees? What if she knew Branch growing up before he turned grey? What if she and Branch...were friends?
This is the Strange Friendship AU, a retelling of the Trolls franchise using personal ideas and headcanons from myself and a number of other writers. A few things to note is;
- DJ plays a far larger role here with ties to Reggaeton, Techno and Funk thorugh her ancestry and brother Cooper. She is present in both World Tour and Band Together, playing much larger roles than in canon.
- There'll be a few ships throughout the series. Primarily is Branch/Poppy. The secondary ship will be DJ/Trollex along with others.
- DJ Suki and Branch are friends here (Even though Branch will deny it at first). They knew each other before the Great Escape
- Clay and Floyd stayed after BroZone split but Clay got separated from Branch and Floyd during the escape.
