This retelling of the hit bullshittingly difficult game Fear & Hunger explores themes of death, depression, and the human instinct to push forward as much as it explores the dank dungeons themselves. Following the unlucky thief Cahara, this story is my interpretation of F&H's classic escapades, including lobbing limbs off, face-ripping grannies, party bonding, moldy bread scrounging, and the heart-wrenching climax that gave way to the Cruel Age. We may already know the ending (or one of them), but is it not the journey that is the true destination? And when the destination is cold, cruel death... what exactly can the journey mean, if anything?
Please note this fanfic includes graphic scenes of bloodshed and violence (including towards children), dark themes, and touches on sexual violence, including attempted sexual violence. Please also note that this fanfic will NOT include scenes of rape, and that the tags alluding to CSA are not indicative of that specific violence toward the little girl, but rather a warning that I feel is appropriate to add due to Pocketcat's appearance in the story.
