For Mia and Charlotte, life finally begins to settle into something that resembles normal. The bakery is busy and the Velvet Room is thriving. But suddenly, a storm passes through that turns everything upside down, and the people who survived the storm are learning how to live afterwards.

Reece swallows. Once again, he’s plagued by the uncomfortable feeling that Steve might have a point. “Yeah, well, it’s fucking hard,” he says. “I already feel like an imposter just being here.”
Or: Steve convinces Reece to go to Spain for a week for the first holiday abroad of his life. Reece is pretty sure it'll take longer than that to unlearn a lifetime of worries.
