Edwin squints in the dim lighting, examining the boy's face, he doesn’t recognise him.
“Mate what the bloody Hell is going on?!” Even without the light, Edwin can see the heavy, erratic, breaths he is taking and raises an eyebrow at his antics. “I am unaware as to what you are referring to. You are the one in my room after all, I feel I should be the one to ask that.”
“I was just dying!”
“Pardon?”
“Where the bloody Hell am I?”
OR
Charles is sent back in time right before he dies to St. Hilarion's in 1916, you won't believe who also happens to be at that school.

A lot of tragedies have happened at St. Hilarion's over the years. Recently, there's been another. The story of a girl who died under mysterious circumstances reaches the Leverage team, who are on vacation in London. At the same time, the Dead Boy Detectives are hired on the case. Unfortunately, their styles don't mesh well, especially because they don't know the other team is also there.

"Well I have no idea why she's here. She has been living in London for the past year, so I don't know why she would be a transfer student from the US. Also when she came in here, she looked pretty guilty, like she was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing. And I've never seen that other girl with her in my life."
"There's some rich girl doing weird things at the 'rich people doing weird things' school," said Eliot. "Do you think she's in any way connected to the murder? Because if she isn't, it's not our problem."
"Sure," said Breanna. "I'll drop it." But there was still the feeling in the back of her mind that she was missing something about this situation and that Crystal Palace Surname Von Hoverkraft was, in some way, mixed up in this whole thing.

The day had started out as any other and for that; Edwin is more than grateful. Edwin had been rather lucky to have a private tutor or perhaps it was less a matter of luck and more a matter of his position. Even with the knowledge that he happened to be the least favorited boarder among his peers, Edwin knew that no one could deny his parentage and subsequently his funds.

A short fic about Edwins morning before the incident (I know it doesn't have a TON of SImon in it and obvi its simon appreciation week but I wanted to emphasize how normal of a day it was for Edwin (to an extent) when it clearly wasn't one for simon.
Our boy Simon makes an appearance towards the end and I think its still really good, I hope it still qualifies bc I'm trying to hit you all in the heart ache, a whiplash type moment- This is in the same universe as my other simon appreciation week so it IS filling in some gaps in the other one shots I've published.
