London was a pressure cooker with a busted lid. The Underground rattled with graffiti-tagged carriages and the smell of stale lager and desperation. Club kids in neon and dockworkers losing their jobs—everyone was angry, everyone was broke, and yet the night buses still ran, still carried people home to flats they could barely afford.
And then there’s Remus.
Because chaos follows people, not just a postcode. He lost the home, the pension, the quiet dignity of thinking he’d done right by his son. He cheated—or didn’t, or wanted to, or couldn’t help it, the lines got smeared somewhere between a devil on his shoulder and a man’s lips on his earlobe.
Or: Remus is about to bang his head against the wall because life is hard, and then the solution appears before him—Sirius in the purest form of what life in the London underground would be like.

Sirius decided to stop pretending to write his own essay and leaned forward over the desk; stomach pressed against the table edge and propped his chin up on the heel of his palm, staring openly at the studious boy opposite. Remus was gorgeous like this – the thin wire frames of his reading glasses forever sliding down his nose to be repeatedly pushed back up again, quill tickling his chin whenever he shifted forward, and every now and then, when he paused for thought, the tip of his tongue would dart out to wet his lower lip. As he continued to watch, Sirius felt his mouth becoming gradually drier.
