    Summary

L knows that Light Yagami is guilty. And he is forced to accept that he will never be able to prove it.

So, just this once, he decides to break his principles and go above the law. He kidnaps Light and takes him to Wammy's house.

He's sure that having the kids interact with a real-life mass murderer will be a very educational experience indeed.

Or: Light is Kira, L is sick of how easily manipulated the police are, and he secretly wants to see what will happen if he forces Light into a domestic situation with children just as intelligent as he is.

    Summary

Zanka knew he had a problem.

What else could describe his new habit of sneaking behind the Cleaners' backs to fight with Jabber Wonger? He knew it was a stupid idea. He knew that it wasn't right. He knew that the Cleaners would find out some day. He knew the consequences would arrive soon enough.

And arrive they did. But not in the way he was expecting.

Slowly, strange changes had begun to take place in Zanka's body. Unnatural, impossible changes. Changes Zanka had no idea how to stop.

It didn't take long to trace the source. After all, who else could be responsible, other than infamous poison maniac, Jabber Wonger?

Except, when confronted, Jabber denies it. And while Zanka didn't exactly believe him, seeing what had happened to the Raider's own body made that a bit hard.

No matter the cause, the two of them only have each other to rely on for a solution. But if seeking that solution gives them far more than they bargained for? When that search leaves the two of them trapped in an unknown location, unlike anything either of them had seen before?

    That remains to be seen.

(Alternatively, let's propose a hypothetical. What if your skin wasn't your own?)

    Summary

“I’m not supposed to be hard, and yet—”

“OH MY GOD,” Light muttered, burying his face in L’s neck, mostly to avoid reality.

    This was happening.

    This was real.

This was maybe a crime in twelve countries, but in Japan, it was just Tuesday.

He could feel L’s laugh, low and bitter, rattle in his throat. “Are you going to do it, Light-kun?”

    Light blinked. “Do what?”

“Kill me. Prove your point. Assert your authority. Finish your thesis. Or—” L pulled him closer, teeth grazing Light’s earlobe like sin— “is this your way of delaying the inevitable?”

In which being handcuffed together is the least of their entanglements.

    Summary

"In art, chiaroscuro (...) is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition." (Wikipedia).

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?

Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.
