Summary
Rules, requirements, and obligations--Yeosang was raised to be mindful of them all. After his marriage, lessons on the customs and etiquette of the western fae had guided him to be, he hoped, a good prince consort. If he longed for more, that was a secret best held close.
Wedding Yeosang had brought San's kingdom prosperity and peace--and a companionship he treasured. Attraction grew with their friendship, and his husband's reserve vanished the nights they spent together. Every year that passed, his affections grew deeper and stronger. Love? Yes, he loved. But Yeosang...did he feel anything more than fondness?
Duty and uncertainty hushed words they might have spoken...until a change neither wanted loomed.

Summary
A shimmering distortion in the center of his room flickered to life, swirling like liquid glass. A circular rift cracked open midair, glowing faintly gold and violet. Yeosang stood up so fast he knocked his chair back.
And from the portal… stepped a figure.
His breath caught in his throat. The figure was tall. Familiar. Too familiar.
“What the—” Yeosang blinked. “Who are you?”
The figure stepped into the light, revealing his face—Yeosang’s face.
The other Yeosang tilted his head with an amused smirk. His style was sharper, darker. Clothes fitted like armor. Eyes colder.
“I’m you,” the double said smoothly, “but better.”
Yeosang stood there, absolutely mortified as the practice room fell into a mix of gasps and barely-suppressed laughter. His hands were still pressed to his face when he slowly peeked through his fingers to glare at San.
“You made out with him? In front of everyone?!”
San raised both hands defensively, his ears tinged red. “Okay—first of all—he kissed me! I was just… caught off guard and I—look, it was confusing, okay?!”

Summary
San’s kindness was a foreign, shooting star; it was the kind of selfless kindness Yeosang had been scavenging for so long for. The type of kindness that Yeosang had ruined his body for, the kind Yeosang had traveled so far for, the kind he had lied to himself for, and the kind he had murdered for. All for just a second of fairytale love and prince charming kindness to be thrown at him like a bone to a hideous stray dog.
But Yeosang had been looking in all the wrong places, in all the wrong people, until eventually he had landed in a murderous pirate crew’s jail cell.
But, Yeosang thought as he looked up at San’s bright smiling face and the meowing black cat, it had all been worth it.

Summary
When San asks his mother how he was injured, she waves her hands and shakes her head, mumbling, “Too complicated. You’ll forget again.” The only real information she gives him over breakfast is that there was some kind of accident and a brain injury. She doesn’t say what happened or how much he’s forgotten, but the calendar on the wall says it’s October. The last date he remembers was sometime in August.
