“For what?”
“In case it starts snowing in the desert since so many once-in-a-lifetime things seem to be happening lately.”
“You-!” Kaveh storms into the kitchen. “You are so insufferable and so- what on teyvat are you wearing?”
Al-Haitham pauses whatever he’s making on the counter, turns around and looks himself up and down. “An apron.”

Summary
No response. Kaveh’s face is still hidden from view, still buried underneath the mass of white fur around his neck and inaccessible to the world but Al-Haitham finds it quite alright. He can be patient for him no matter how long it takes. He keeps up trying to soothe him even as his knees start to ache, digging into the wooden floors and lets the silence permeate in the dark of their room. Eventually, Kaveh shifts, moving the wings covering his head just enough that they can meet each other’s eyes.

You hold his body in your arms.
The white linen stains red red red and seeps into the greens blacks and golds of the fabric haphazardly ripped off your own back to staunch the life from spilling out.
You look at him, half-lidded eyes and paling skin, a sharp contrast to the sun-kissed tan and freckles scattered like constellations that should be there and for once in your life, you find yourself begging as you watch the steady drip of ichor pool into the sand beneath you and leave behind sinking craters of earthy brown.

Summary
Let it be known for the record that Al-Haitham does not like surprise parties. Or any kind of parties at all, for that matter. But does that stop his overly-enthusiastic group of friends (Because he has friends now. Multiple. More than he ever expected he would.) from throwing him one anyway? Absolutely not. You get acquainted with some people to overthrow a corrupt government just once and the next thing you know, you walk in on them decking your house with streamers, balloons and an obnoxiously large banner. Typical.

"I want you to punish me," Lu Guang thought to himself as Cheng Xiaoshi placed warm, gentle kisses against his neck once again.
"I'd rather praise you," he said. "Smart, reliable," he began to list the things he loved in between kisses, chaste but still burning into Lu Guang's skin. The words had a lull to them, as if he knew exactly how much Lu Guang needed comfort. Maybe he did.
"Pretty," he continued. "And so kind...even if you try to hide it." A kiss pressed just under Lu Guang's jaw, right on his pulse. Lu Guang's breath hitched involuntarily, closer to the start of a sob than a moan. Cheng Xiaoshi's eyebrows furrowed at the sound. "I mean it," he whispered into pale skin.
Cheng Xiaoshi treats Lu Guang so tenderly, he doesn't know what to do with himself.

A group of violent thieves starts targeting businesses around their neighborhood. When the photo shop becomes the next victim and Lu Guang ends up bruised and bloody, he tells the others not to get involved. Leave the past in the past.

Death. The one thing he kept running away from, he’s now welcoming with open arms.”
Lu Guang has hurt so many people in attempt to save Cheng Xiaoshi, but in the end, he doesn’t even know if he will succeed. So, Lu Guang comes to the difficult conclusion, in order to ensure Cheng Xiaoshi’s safety, he must eliminate the anomaly of this world: himself.

Cheng Xiaoshi is not a quiet sleeper.
Which is a pretty convenient excuse for Lu Guang to take the top bunk, claiming the mumbling, tossing and turning, the jolting awake would wake him.
Really, Lu Guang appreciates the leverage, the ability to check on Cheng Xiaoshi whenever his nightmares pull him from sleep. Appreciates being allowed to count his breaths and imagine his heartbeats as he takes in Cheng Xiaoshi's mumbles and steady breathing.
He hadn't appreciated it enough, in their first timeline. Had taken the soft breath and subtle creaks for granted.
OR the bed sharing fix I wrote in a manic haze after watching the Bridon Arc that is likely miles away from canon
