Summary
He who saves one life saves the world. This was the guiding principle of what it meant to be a hero. No life - however small or seemingly insignificant - should be cast aside. Yet in modern society, heroes were pushed to pursue fame and fortune over living up to the ideals at the foundation of their profession. Meanwhile, the public grows more and more apathetic to the plights of those around them, utterly convinced that heroes will step in to help anyone truly in need. A horrifying combination.
For one child suffering and ignored amidst the crowded streets of Japan, this would become the foundation of the future terror that would grip the world.
Or it would be... were it not for a single act. A small change in routine, a different street chosen, a dash of courage, and a hand extended. The hallmarks of a hero were not in flashy powers or catch phrases but instead the courage to act when no one else would.
Inko Midoriya had that courage.
And it would change the scales for everyone.

The Eleventh stopped with him, giving him a deer-in-headlights look that made Zeta feel colder still; even the blush that had swiftly risen to his ears could do nothing to warm him. After a brief and ineffective stand-off, the Segment turned himself back around. “Will you stop following me, already?”
Zeta continued marching forward. After a beat of consideration, Childe did, too.

Summary
“Strip.”
The request-slash-command went through Childe’s head.
They locked in a very long, very awkward stare-down.
Eventually, Dottore released a slow, exhausted sigh, completed with a long-suffering expression of a man reconsidering every life choice that had led him to this room. He looked like someone who wished he were literally anywhere else. Well, jokes on him. Childe felt exactly the same.
“Childe,” Dottore said patiently, in the tone one might use for a particularly dense child, “I need to examine the wound on your stomach. Might I remind you that you were nearly skewered through the abdomen by an Abyssal creature?”

Childe was hospitalized, and Dottore lamented the fact that none of the Fatui Harbingers possessed even the slightest sense of self-preservation.
