Avery had decided to come live with him for that exact reason, to make sure he wasn't going to kill himself by accident with how flimsy his body has gotten.Problem is, Derek cannot differentiate between knowledge of future timelines and actual memories if his life depended on it
Or: silly idea I had when talking to my friend where Derek mistakes the knowledge that he and Avery will marry in the future for memories and cannot find his wedding ring which doesn't even exist yet

I couldn't really write this that well because I myself don't know how to express the feeling of everyone acting differently towards you despite not really just because you're disabled now, but I felt like doing this would help me understand more (it didn't)
