But instead here Ren is, getting sat down and told the truth about how these mysterious beings work.

These stories however, are very far from the truth.Oh not the blood thirsty part though, that ones (usually) true.
Note: This fic is Really Old and is due a rewrite at some point, as its very lacking in a lot of things that I prefer my writing to have! Your still free to enjoy, but it really is not my best work at this point

On the other side was a precipitous drop into — nothing. For a moment Legundo wondered if he'd actually fallen, and was looking at the sky instead; but he was upright, and yet the sky was below them. He stamped a booted foot, hard, on the wooden planks under his feet, and his stomach dropped at the hollow sound.
"Where — " he began in a shaky voice. "Mig, where is the ground?"

When Legundo died, he hoped for oblivion, and expected torment; what he got was neither. Instead, he finds himself in a world where islands hang in the sky, and strangers wearing the faces of his dead friends treat him like someone they know. Finding his footing is a difficult task, and figuring out how to reverse what's been done even more so, and there's something wrong with the man who claims to be his partner...
He should have known better than to think he could rest.

Legundo blinked and came back to himself, taking in his partner's appearance with a quick sweep of his gaze. Mig was on edge, shifting his weight from foot to foot, a nervous, preoccupied look in his eye.
"Tell me," he said, already moving to join him at the door. Mig hopped back to clear the space and lead him out into the open air.
"He's here," he said ominously.
