Summary
Shinsou Hitoshi is just a few days from turning fifteen, and just a few months from entering high school.
For someone who's never really celebrated his birthday, July 1st is usually like any other day for him. This time, though, is different. Hitoshi is nearing the end of middle school and preparing to start his journey to UA and his path to becoming a pro hero. All Hitoshi wants is to experience something new and to not follow the rules for once. All he wants is to meet his lifelong favorite hero.
And Hitoshi decides that this is his chance to do exactly that. With the help of an online forum he's been running for years, Hitoshi tracks down Eraserhead and plans for his only adventure. Not everyone is on board, though, and Hitoshi hits resistance hard.
A newly turned fifteen year-old Shinsou Hitoshi plans for the adventure of his life and between sneaking out, hunting down a hero, and meeting new people, things don't go as planned and Hitoshi ends up getting way more than his bargained for as he refuses to listen to reason.

Summary
Hitoshi stares up at the ceiling of the room. It's the middle of the night and he should be asleep but it's not as if Hitoshi expected anything else.
He barely sleeps and by now he's no longer sure if he's simply wired like that or if his childhood spent in hyper-vigilance has made him like that, but it's not as if there's a chance for him to change it.
Sleep, to him, comes in twenty to forty minutes bursts; after that he jerks up, as if it's unsafe, as if he needs to check his surroundings in those set intervals and Hitoshi has long since stopped being angry about it.
Being angry takes energy and he barely has any these days and the little he does have, he needs for something else. Training with Aizawa is exhausting most of the time, a mix of not enough food, not enough sleep and the general struggle of physically training and for a few desperate nights Hitoshi had hoped that maybe that exhaustion would be enough to actually make him sleep.
What a fool he'd been.

Forty-eight hours.
Hizashi knew that was how long since he'd last slept. It'd been even longer since he'd been home. Everyone needed Present Mic. The radio station needed him to pull in record listenership numbers. The school needed him to teach English to eager students. The world needed him to fight villains and keep everyone safe. Present Mic was being pulled in every direction. There was no room for Hizashi.
Shouta knew exactly how long it'd been, too. Counting the hours since Hizashi had been home was impossible, so he settled for counting the hours he knew Hizashi had been awake. Trying to help was futile and no matter what Shouta did to help, he couldn't shake the feeling of dread he had—and the feeling of panic that refused to leave him.
Hizashi was good at pushing himself when there was an end in sight. But—now there wasn't one, and Hizashi had to just keep pushing and pushing, making both himself and Shouta suffer.
Until it came to an end just after that forty-eight hour mark.

Summary
Yamada Hizashi is doing exactly what he's always wanted to do with his life—running his own preschool and daycare. Even though it's small, it's his and he knows he's good at what he does.
Then, Aizawa Shouta, an underground pro hero, enrolls his adoptive son, four year-old Shinsou Hitoshi, a boy who's been kicked out of every other daycare and school he's been put in since the development of his brainwashing quirk. Hizashi is more than happy to have him in his school, especially since Hizashi was born with a 'dangerous' quirk himself, and he quickly finds out that he has a soft spot for this kid and a serious liking towards his father that he has to learn to deal with.

Summary
Aizawa Shouta was an underground hero, and a teacher trained to see all the signs of abuse. And from the moment he started training Shinsou Hitoshi, he had his suspicions.
He noticed the beat up clothing, the odd unexplained bruise here and there, the flinches at sudden movements, how the kid lit up at every little praise or kind word.
His student gave no indication anything was wrong at home, was quick to brush off any questions. A practiced liar, with a practiced nonchalant air.
It was frustrating, but Shouta knew there was nothing he could do until the kid admitted the truth to him, no matter what he suspected.
So the underground hero watched, and he waited. For the day his kid felt comfortable enough to come to him, or for a sign big enough that the school could investigate.
And a few months into training, it all came to a head.

Aizawa takes Hitoshi in with his emergency foster parent license. Hitoshi doesn't know how normal family dynamics work, but he's about to find out. Cue lots of hurt/comfort and family fluff.
