Summary
Modeling in a GQ photo shoot with his husband had been weird for Shane, though not an entirely new experience, as it wasn’t all that different from doing hockey promo shoots.
Walking on a runway however, in front of a live audience, was never something he even remotely considered. Until Farah calls him one morning, with an unusual offer.
Shane is convinced he shouldn’t do it, too scared what would happen. But Ilya seems to disagree, even kind of loving the idea of it.

Ilya attempts writing a "just-in-case" suicide letter to Shane, and then passes out for 16 hours where he has a very vivid dream about his mother. Shane finds Ilya's letter first, and then him passed out on the bed and (validly) assumes the worst. Happy ending though. I promise 🫶🏻

“Congrats boys,” the guard said, swinging open the cell door and stepping aside. “You’re free to go.”
“Thank you,” Shane muttered at the floor, stepping over the threshold and coming to a stop in front of Ilya, who was standing a few feet in front of the door with his arms crossed and face unmoving. Shane couldn’t even bring himself to look up; he didn’t want Ilya’s expression ingrained in his mind any more than it already was.
Luca mumbled his thanks to the guard and followed suit, coming to stand next to Shane, his head bowed.
Ilya huffed a sound of disappointment as he looked them over, before uttering his first word of the night.
“Walk.”OR
Shane and Luca get arrested after getting into a bar fight. Ilya is not happy with them.

“Hollander.” Shane’s head snaps back to his left. Ilya is much closer, pace slightly hurried. “Come here.” His voice sort of mimics the way one would talk to an animal paralyzed in fight-or-flight. Shane is not sure what to make of that.
He slowly turns his head in the opposite direction, where his vision tunnels on the door for the stairwell. It almost glows like a special item in a video game, like a hint. Without giving himself time to doubt, he bolts.
“Wha- Hollander, what the fuck!” Ilya shouts in audible disbelief, and Shane distinctly hears matching thuds of frantic footsteps behind him; Ilya is chasing after him. Shane runs faster, positively sprinting at this point. He’s the fastest skater in the NHL right now. He can do this. He flings the door open and bounds down the steps two at a time, hitting the walls with each turn of a corner. If he eats shit on this filthy floor and embarrasses himself in front of Ilya, he thinks, he’ll never let himself see the light of day ever again.
or alternatively, in which Shane accidentally sends the text, and Ilya chases after him. Like, actually chases after him.
