Summary
Ronald Weasley is tired of being Harry Potter’s best friend. Pansy Parkinson is tired of being punished for her family’s name. One stolen drink in a Ministry garden turns into one reckless night at Ron’s seaside cottage, and by morning, the entire wizarding world thinks Ronald Weasley and Pansy Parkinson are together. It should be a disaster. Instead, the scandal gives Ron something he has wanted for years: headlines with his own name in them. It gives Pansy something she thought she had lost forever: a chance. They agree to let the world believe the lie. The problem is that Ron and Pansy are very good at pretending. Almost too good.

Summary
Samira Mohan’s life is divided cleanly into two distinct halves: before PittFest and after it. She will never again be the person she was when she clocked in for that shift. She will never forget the give of her patient’s skull beneath an EZ-IO or the slip of the pigtail catheter between her fingers. Even months later, she’s still struggling to unpack all the ways that day changed her life.
Perhaps the strangest residual effect is that Jack Abbot sort of, inexplicably, becomes her best friend.
---
Or: Samira Mohan finds her way through residency and subsequently stumbles onto a whole lot more.

Summary
They stare at each other for a long moment. She feels weak in his blue-eyed gaze. Blue like melancholy, like the code for someone’s heart failing. Like rough waters she’ll surely drown in.
He takes a step closer to her; a late autumnal breeze lifts their hair, encircling them both in the perfume of the other. She misses the smoke. “I think about you all the time," he confesses. "Not Mel, or Abby, just you.”
It would be so easy to drown. To give in. But she’s never been allowed to be selfish in any way that matters. She doesn’t know how to start. “This is crazy,” she declines, rubbing her forehead as she turns to leave. “You and me, it’s insane.”
