Summary
Being an R2 is great. Dennis is a real doctor, with an amazing boyfriend, and the best coworkers ever who have become family. The ER is still chaotic, and the days are long, and people manage to injure themselves in more creative ways than he ever could have imagined, but he finally feels like he's got his feet under him. Until the ER gods decide to remind him that "not much surprises me anymore" is a challenge on par with using the Q word on a full moon.
Or, a venomous snake is loose in the emergency room. Of course, this is Dennis's problem.

Dennis Whitaker is a fox hybrid who hasn't been comfortable in his own body for the past decade. He used to have a shifting schedule, but that went to shit when he left Broken Bow, and hasn't been the same since. Then one night, he learns that Jack Abbot is like him; he's a wolf hybrid. Suddenly, he has the home and supports he always wanted.
OR
Robby kinda sorta kidnaps Dennis after figuring out he's a hybrid who hasn't had the chance to shift in weeks, and takes him back to his house so he can be himself with Abbot. Chaos, self hatred, and the first ounce of peace Dennis has felt in years ensues.

Bang. Bang. Bang.
It takes a few seconds for Dennis to realize what it is he’s hearing. As soon as he does, though, he doesn’t hesitate. Drops to the ground. Grabs Mateo and McKay by the hems of their scrub tops and drags them down too, when he notices they haven’t moved. McKay falls with a huff, Mateo a grunt, and he’ll apologize later for being so rough with them. But he needed them to get down, and they weren’t.
