Summary
After very publicly (some would argue theatrically) losing his mind and murdering three young women in an unconscious state, FBI consultant Will Graham is sentenced to serve three consecutive life sentences in the notorious Shawshank State Prison. Upon arrival, he is unsettled to find himself in a cell neighboring that of infamous serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who is 12 years into his own life sentences and amuses himself dealing in fine contraband.
When Will approaches Lecter with an unusual request, the two strike up a friendship which, over the years, develops into a powerful infatuation that will change them both irreversibly. But prison is no fairy-tale world, and there are dangers lurking around every corner: the violent captain of the guards, Jack Crawford; the scheming warden, Frederick Chilton; and the brutal gang known as the Sisters, led by the murderer Francis Dolarhyde.
And then there is the secret Will is hiding in his cell. A secret that, sooner or later, will change everything.

“You were very angry when you arrived.”
Will’s eyes flicker to his, and his nose screws up almost incredulously. “Someone tried to kill you.”
“Hardly,” Hannibal replies, trying hard not to laugh. Will’s answering glare is rather lovely. “Incapacitate, yes. Nonetheless, that is a rather interesting point, considering you’ve tried to kill me.”
The fingers on his shoulders clench down enough to hurt, but Hannibal doesn’t flinch. “Exactly. You aren’t allowed to die unless it’s by my hand.” Will growls. The dark, possessive undertone to his words hit Hannibal’s lungs like a sudden crack of thunder.
_________________Alternatively: Set after Randall Tier and before the Vergers show up. Hannibal gets mugged on the way home one night, resulting in some rather superficial injuries. Cue one very angry, very jealous Will Graham and a night that changes the game between them forever.

Summary
Soulmate AU: Soulmates find their other half when they look into their eyes. After the next time they sleep, they wake with one eye the color of their intended. Unless, of course, it's only a half-connection.
Will Graham's world didn't fundamentally change when his therapist, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, was found guilty on several counts of murder and cannibalism. A minor set-back, but Will was a resilient person. He continued with his education and graduated top of his class with a major in psychology and a minor in soulmate studies. He dated. Sometimes. Not often. He earned his doctorate and continued on with his residency under Dr. Bloom.
He was then kindly, and in the most polite manner possible, kidnapped by a cult of Hannibal-worshiping followers.
Placed before their newly freed leader, Will struggles to understand their motives, although when he looks into the eyes of his old therapist, he realizes something rather unsettling:
One eye blue, the other maroon.
Too bad Will's eyes didn't change. Hannibal intends on fixing that, though.
Hannibal meets The Following with a twist. Thriller, angst, romance, mystery, and a whole-heartedly indignant Will Graham.
