Summary
Taking the seat offered, he keeps his blade to his back. He’s sure the holstered thing has been noticed. If not by the man opposite him, then others. Why those very people haven’t slunk out from the shadows to try and force him out is beyond him.
But the thought stills as the man reaches out and brushes his fingertips along the back of Geralt’s hand, set against the bar.
A strange warmth trails after the vampire’s touch. The heart held inside the creature’s chest doesn’t beat. It hasn’t for decades. But warmth scalds Geralt’s skin anyway and he struggles not to shiver.
A vampire’s lulling charm.
The Witcher’s jaw tightens as he leans away, just an inch or two, and the vampire’s hand remains in the air.

Summary
Jaskier waited for Geralt of to distance himself from the camp well enough, before shuffling off his sitting place atop a rather uncomfortable tree stump, positioning himself so that he was eye-level with the extremely nonplussed horse.
Not, of course, that he wanted to shoo him from his own campsite, but how the hell else would he corner the man's horse?
At Oxenfurt, Jaskier had, much to his vexation, learnt that the word ‘nonplussed’ had two meanings – the first being ‘unsure about what to say, think, or do’, and the second, ‘not bothered, surprised, or impressed by something’. It was almost a contranym, it caused him no end of frustration, and it was the perfect word to use in this scenario, because how the hell was one supposed to get a read on the complex emotional state of a horse?
Nonplussed was right, because Jaskier couldn’t read Roach for shit, so he might as well have covered all his bases, instead.
“So,” he began, and it was a good way to open a dialogue, very solid, “why are you a horse?”
Or: When Jaskier finds Geralt and Roach at Posada, it's less of a first meeting, and more of a reunion.

Summary
Supper secured and stuffed away in his trousers, he looks up to find the silver-haired stranger in the corner, the one person who hadn’t heckled him. The man is objectively gorgeous, with fascinating hair and a body that makes Jaskier’s mouth water a little.
Oh yes, he decides quickly, he will be climbing this stranger like a tree.
He’s a little wrong-footed when he works out that the stranger is a witcher with big scary swords Jaskier’s heard horror stories about, but after a quick moment of thought, he also thinks about how very many things the fae elders have been wrong about all his life and decides to ignore them once again. The witcher–Geralt of supposedly Rivia, even though Jaskier can tell from his accent that that’s a lie–tries to get rid of him, but Jaskier is nothing if he’s not determined, and he’s simply too damn interested to get scared off easily.
The witcher has clearly not realized that Jaskier is something to be hunted, and Jaskier, well, he’s never excelled at silly things like self-preservation.
