“Stop,” Chuuya gripes, “god, you’re so fucking annoying, can’t you just listen to me and be still for five goddamn seconds?”
“Ew,” Dazai says, like Chuuya has asked him to do something reprehensible like believe in love or that he is worthy of forgiveness or the concept of tenderness without bite.
“Just—” Chuuya hisses as Dazai wriggles purposefully, the look on his face he gets when he knows he’s annoyed Chuuya nearly to breaking and wants to see him break, “fucking be good for me for five seconds. Be good.” Chuuya grips Dazai’s jaw hard as speaks, hard enough to bruise. He uses the voice he uses when he’s working, when people need to listen and they need to do it now.
He’s surprised when Dazai goes still underneath him.
Chuuya looks down at Dazai who is blinking up at him slowly, seemingly dazed. His fingers twitch where he had been idly playing with the hem of Chuuya’s shirt. Chuuya tilts his head and waits for Dazai to say something and Dazai says nothing at all.
Chuuya is fascinated.
“Dazai?” He whispers.

Summary
Chuuya is ten when Ranpo and Fukuzawa find him in the aftermath of the Sheep's annihilation and take him in. He grows up away from the Mafia and its violence, and finds a family in the ADA. All is well until a certain mackerel enter his life, bringing his chaos (and his shitton of trauma) along. He's standoffish, with dead eyes and the smell of danger all over him.
Chuuya really, really doesn't like him.Until he does.
(An ADA!Chuuya AU, but with a twist.)

“Whatever. Dazai can show up here and goof around if he wants to (he has been bored at home doing nothing) and Chuuya will start making backup plans for when someone figures out that Dazai is running loose around Port Mafia headquarters.”
Spoiler alert: they do not figure it out and Chuuya decides that dressing a little differently and visiting his partner at work does sound kind of fun. Cue the crack relationship reveal fic that only works if everyone is incredibly inattentive.
