Summary
“You ever think you’d be doing something like this?” Faith asked, tossing a fry into her mouth.
“Eating Sonic in a truck stop parking lot with you?” Buffy said, stirring her shake with her straw. “No, I can’t say that was on my bingo card for 2003. But then again, neither was closing the Hellmouth. So I guess you could say this year has been full of surprises.”
Faith licked fry salt off of her fingers with an expression akin to ecstasy. “Yeah, I didn’t exactly plan on doing a jail break either. But what I was actually gettin’ at was whether you ever thought you’d get to do this kind of thing. Hitting the road. Getting out of Sunny-D and actually seeing the world.”

Three months after the end of the world, Buffy goes on a road trip to find a Hellmouth that probably doesn’t exist with someone she wasn’t sure she’d ever see again, let alone drive across the country with. She finds out some things about herself along the way.

Summary
This fic is a rewrite of Legacies. I plan to stay true to the central themes, but explore them deeper because I think the show's attempt was incredibly insufficient. It's not necessary for readers to have watched TVD or The Originals, but you may miss certain callbacks/Easter eggs if you haven't. Also you will not have as deep of an understanding of the characters (specifically Mikaelson family) as I'd like, but that's okay...
I am honestly not sure how long this will be, as Legacies only aired for 4 seasons, and I don't think Hope's story was anywhere CLOSE to finished. My goal is to have each chapter read similarly to an episode of the show in terms of plot, but I may change my mind and do shorter/longer chapters, or deviate further from Legacies depending on what I think makes sense. There will definitely be deviations from the story in terms of character relationships and timelines, but it'll make sense. Another one of my biggest issues with that mess of a show was the fact that they didn't demonstrate Hope's power AT ALL (likely because she's surrounded by baby wolves and vamps). Most at the Salvatore school are FAR weaker than she is, but I'm not downgrading her power/skill to make them seem more powerful.

So she’d grouped her failed attempts at relationships with men within all those explanations to leave them behind; maybe she was the problem or maybe she wasn’t ready for it at this age so she’d have just to wait… whatever.
Now she had a chance to start fresh in college; she’d focus on her studies, no need to pick up a random hot boy to fixate on him for the rest of semester just to not feel anything for him either later on.
Nothing and no one would break her out of her clear, solid path for her studies to excel.
Lizzie sat down at her first class on her first day with that one idea in her head.
And then Hope Mikaelson showed up.

Lizzie wants a fresh start in college and to leave her failed relationships with boys behind in high school; she meets Hope Mikaelson then, so annoying and smart and cool, and who ends up becoming her best friend despite their rocky start... bringing out feelings in Lizzie that she didn't see coming (she really should have).
