Summary
Fuck. Geralt almost wishes that the bard had been sliced by one of the tail spikes rather than bashed against a tree. At least he could have fixed that a little, patched it up enough to get Jaskier to a healer. He can’t do jack shit for internal bleeding. And unless the next town comes equipped with a mage, that godsawful song about an imp fucking a scullery maid will have been the last one to ever pass the bard’s lips.

“Hey!” she shouted as she yanked his shirt out of the way to get to his side more easily. He opened his eyes again, but it took a moment for them to focus on her. “Don’t fall asleep now.”
It was hard to tell exactly what she was looking at. His entire stomach was covered in blood, obscuring the wound in the dim moonlight. Wasting no more time, she pressed down as hard as she could with the gauze in a desperate attempt to stop him from bleeding out.
Jaskier screamed, one hand grabbing her wrist weakly, a plea to make the pain stop. It didn’t last long as he had to gasp for breath, the noise turning to strangled whimpers that were almost worse. The gauze quickly became saturated, so she had to shift to grab more. This time he didn’t make a sound.

Summary
Geralt is running forward already, desperate to reach the river and retrieve his stupid bard from the woman’s clutches but he knows he won’t make it in time. Her arms wrap around the bard’s slim back, cold and rotting, and pulls him against her.
All he can do is watch as the woman slips beneath the water, dragging Jaskier down with her, and both disappear beneath the surface.
(Or, everything was going fine until the mermaid showed up)

This story is an exploration of how they go from office pals to sex/life partners.This is a fix-it fic written because Angua and Carrot make a pretty good couple, but could be a truly great couple, and they both deserve better than the canonical start of their relationship. We've all learned a lot about consent since Men At Arms was written.

Summary
It is early days of this thing called a ReLaTiOnShIp(?) between Downey and Vetinari--all very new, Vetinari would like to note that emotions are a bug and not feature. Downey is here to smoke a lot of cigarettes and be dramatic about things. However, the untimely murder of Downey's brother-in-law puts a bit of a wrench in things, made worse by the announcement that his (estranged) father may or may not be dying soon. All deeply inconvenient for everyone involved. There are parallels of past and present because families are a sticky business, always, and things that happened thirty years ago have a strange ability to cycle back through your life.
[I have rewritten Thus, Always because I wanted to finish the story but had left it too long to pick it back up and start where I left off, so I just redid the whole thing. There are differences between the OG Thus, Always and this one. This one still works within the broader AU timeline of Murder Flat stories etc.]

He came forward and wound his arms around her waist, sliding them under the apron to encircle the thick waist, padded by comforting rolls of fat, spread his hands over the heavy expanse of velvet belly, leaned his head against her back. Sybil smelt of swamp dragon and sweat and expensive soap vainly competing against the other scents. Vimes was a small man who sought to make up for his size by barking and biting loudly, but with Sybil, he could allow himself to feel small, and lean into her bulk without fear.
As usual, he hadn't had to have said anything at all.

Summary
When Drumknott had the idea, it was because his wrist had begun to ache. After an interminable evening council meeting where he’d taken the minutes as usual, there had been a minor incident with an attempted garroting and he’d sprained his thumb stabbing a fountain pen into a man’s windpipe at an awkward angle. Unfortunately, quite a lot of blood had gotten on his Farriers’ Guild files, and he’d had to spend the next two hours replacing folders and rewriting dossiers.
