She knocked on the door the same way she always did. I had it engraved in my head by now. A “rat-tat-tat” (with the ‘tats’ in quick succession of each other.) and sometimes, at previous houses or even the group home I could swear to God to hearing her knock. I guess I just wanted to hear it so much.
Even just a tree branch swaying in the wind and knocking against the window, even just a flurry of footsteps flying down the corridor, even being hit by the belt. If I only closed my eyes tight enough and strain my ears enough to listen, I could convince myself that maybe she was standing just outside. Just waiting to take me away.
__________________________Or; Ponyboy Michael's has been tossed around from foster home to foster home. With a black eye and secrets he’s desperately hiding he turns up at the Curtis’ front door but this is all temporary. Because the only thing permanent in his life was that nothing stays the same.

Summary
Regulus needed help. Everything hurt. He didn’t understand, where was Sirius? He needed his older brother. Regulus forced his body toward the fireplace, grabbing a bit of floo powder and tossing it in. He collapsed into it with a single thought on his mind, ‘Sirius’.
Regulus closed his eyes as he felt the familiar lurch of his stomach and flash of green. He spilled out onto cool hardwood flooring. His side ached, and the edges of the world were going fuzzy. A sharp gasp came from behind him. Regulus just managed to open his eyes to see two pairs of feet rushing towards him before the world went dark.
Regulus Black has accidentally escaped his parents and their expectations for him to join the death eaters. The only problem? He's at the Potters house, living with his estranged brother and his best friend.
