Summary
"You were dead," he says, dumbfounded. "But, you're alive?"
"Yep," Regulus answers, popping the P and suddenly avoiding his eyes.
James's head is hurting as he tries to take it all in. He's stopped pressing himself into the sofa and is instead leaning forward, towards Regulus. His body and his mind are at war and it seems his body is winning. Something inside of him is desperate to get closer.
"I used to know this." It's a statement, not a question. He's certain of it. There's an empty, static feeling in his mind as he tries to think back on any of it.
Prodding at the hole in his mind makes the tension between his ears even worse.

Summary
In the single second Sirius has had his attention focussed on Remus, the tables have filled with food.
Sirius follows James's gaze to the plates and platters and dishes, all filled to the brim. He recognizes some of it, but most of it is alien. Stuff he’s only seen on billboards around London, but never on a dinner table in front of him.
The smell overwhelms him and his tummy does several excited somersaults as he tries to take it all in.
Just within his view there are several pies, roast vegetables, a stack of Yorkshire puddings so high it obstructs his view of the girl sitting across from him, a honey-glazed ham, several whole chickens, numerous pots of stew, and enough bread baskets to give his mother an aneurysm.
Sirius has never seen this much food in one place before.
He waits, for just a second. Unsure if there’s a signal, unsure he’s allowed at all.

Summary
He doesn’t know how long it’s been. He thinks he can feel the passing of the days. The moon coming up, giving him an ounce of strength, before disappearing again. It’s tricky, because there’s no windows, just the endless nothing, a cell and a dark hallway lit by a couple of torches.
So even if he can feel the moon somewhere in his chest, it’s hard to keep track. He’d tried to, the first few days, back when there’d still been some fight in him. Back when he’d been bracing himself for him to give him a visit.He should have known better. The dark lord doesn’t concern himself with scrawny little waterbending blood traitors. Not even if those blood traitors have stolen something as precious as a horcrux, or if they’d supposedly come back from the dead.
Not that he had been dead. He reminds himself again.
He would be, very soon, he knew. Knew it with the same certainty as he knew they were out in the middle of the ocean. Something deep inside of him could sense it. Sense it looming in the distance. The waves lapping against the ship. A calm certainty.

Summary
“What flavours do you like?” James asks, pointing towards the ice cream display.
Regulus tries to keep a hold of his smile but he can feel it turning into a grimace.
“I don’t know.” He says truthfully.
There are so many options. Too many.
There’s fruity ones, chocolaty ones, ones with nuts and he can see an oreo one and a snickers too. There’s options for whipped cream and syrups and toppings and his head is spinning.
James gives his side a gentle nudge towards the counter and he takes a robotic step forward. He rips his gaze away from the ice cream and looks right into the expectant smile of the girl behind the counter.
or: Regulus is trying to get a degree, recover from an eating disorder, reconnect with his brother and date said brother's best friend, all at the same time.

Rozanov made a dismissive noise. “No, no, I will pick you up. Send me your address.”
“I’m not giving you my home address.”
“Why not!”
“Because you’ll probably post it on social media to psych me out before our next game.”
That made Rozanov laugh. “It is good idea,” he said. Stopped laughing. Started again. Blew out a breath like he had to get himself together. “I might do this to you,” he allowed, “but you have nice boyfriend living with you now. I would not do this to him. You are safe.”
In which Ilya Rozanov adopts himself into Scott and Kip's household and refuses to leave. Kip finds this very sweet. Scott is going to kill him.

“I’m sorry,” Shane chokes, closing his eyes. Rozanov draws his hand, pulling Shane’s with it, to his face and wipes his cheeks.
“There is nothing to be sorry for, любовь моя, it is okay,” Rozanov murmurs, tugging at Shane’s hair again. Shane exhales, letting him clean his cheeks. “You got overwhelmed, yes? It happens.”
“I can’t be fucking normal,” Shane says quietly, whining, head falling back, pressing into Rozanov’s hand.
“No, if you were fucking normal, you would not be my Shane.”

Shane’s heart drops into his stomach. “Ilya,” he breathes. His vision goes blurry, throat tight. He tries to swallow it down and focus, shove his swirling thoughts into a neat little box, but it’s impossible. He feels—he might throw up, actually. “Are you seriously telling me you tried to fucking kill yourself?”
“Yes,” Ilya agrees blandly, “It did not work.”
Ilya calls Shane from the hospital. Shane handles it very normally.

“Could I get a name for the order?” Marlene asked.
“Serious,” the man replied. “Like the star,” he clarified, and Remus mentally scratched out 'Serious' and rewrote 'Sirius' in his head.
“The… star?” Marlene asked, her pen hovering over the cup as she hesitated.
“S-I-R-I-U-S,” Remus said. He stocked croissants into the display case, not looking up. “The Dog Star,” he added, “brightest star in the sky, actually. Visible from both hemispheres.” When he looked over, the man– Sirius– seemed surprised, his eyebrows raised as Remus spoke, and when Remus finished, he blinked a few times before smiling lopsidedly.
“Er– yeah,” he breathed a laugh. “That.” There was a baby on his hip. Somehow, it had taken Remus a second glance to notice that.

Or, Remus works as a barista and Sirius comes in every morning with the world's cutest baby, and man, these two just wrote the book on mutual pining, huh?
