Summary
After a drunken brawl leaves a man dead, Steve Rogers is arrested and, on the advice of his lawyer, pleads guilty to manslaughter in hopes of a lesser sentence. Unfortunately, because of Steve's background and experience, he's given a sentence of five to ten years in a maximum-security prison.
Trapped in an endless sea of guilt and fear, Steve does whatever he can to survive this nightmare and not lose himself to the horrors and violence of prison life, especially the vicious abuse at the hands of cruel and sadistic prison guards.
The last thing Steve expects is to find a true connection with anyone, let alone fall in love. But there's something intriguing about his surly, miserable, mad-at-the-world bunkmate, Barnes, and whatever it is, it might be the key to both of them getting through this terrifying ordeal together.

Prison AU - an augmented product of the author’s imagination of the MCU and its characters; a take on their roles presented within the franchise inserted both within and outside of prison walls. ***
Centers around Steve Rogers and his reluctant experience with the other prisoners and guards as well as with himself. ***
His progressive dynamic with Bucky Barnes is satisfactorily written and not rushed thus far by the author. Not enemies to lovers (bc nothing is personal between them), but more so one party learns to trust the other into companionship.

The author employs such realistic range of dynamics between prison guards and prisoners that I’m actually wondering if the author went to maximum security prison herself (teehee). Successfully writes some of them so insufferably that I actually got mad as hell in real life (💀). -
