Summary
Perhaps if there had been less on the line, Astra would have given up long ago.
Infected by monsters more myth than reality. Stranded far away from anywhere she knew, fighting everyday for survival, contending against the whims of Gods and demons. Doing what she could for unfortunate souls who needed a miracle, and who instead had gotten her.
But they were why she was still going, leading with a conviction and bravery that did not exist, borrowed instead from her new companions for whom she would give all she could, hoping that would be enough.
Hoping she could be enough for her secretive cleric, who had buried her way into her thoughts with more grace and subtly than the tadpole, whose shrouded heart had begun to mean more to Astra than either of them could ever have expected.
- A retelling of the events of Baldur's Gate 3 from the viewpoint of Astra the Tiefling, Oath of the Ancients Paladin, but stopping by every now and then for a bit of Shadowheart's POV.

On the other end of the line, Nicole could tell Bridgette was crying. “I fucked up, Nicole. It’s so bad…”
“Bridgey…” Nicole’s heart broke. “I’m sure that’s not true. Tell me what’s going on, please?”
It took her a couple minutes to regain control of her tears, but she eventually whispered through her phone, “I think I’m pregnant.”
“I- what!? Bridgey, just how sure are you about this? Have you taken a test?” Nicole asked urgently.
"Not yet… that’s- why I called you. Can you buy me a couple and drop them off at the restaurant?"
Nicole didn't hesitate. “Of course. I’ll be there in 30 minutes, and we’ll take the test together, okay? I’m not gonna let you go through that alone.”
