After a night out with friends, Mike wakes up with a pounding headache on an unfamiliar park bench and no recollection of how he ended up there. He's read about the Anthrostate, but he has no idea how he ended up here.
As Jade convinces a worried but hungry Mike to come with her, the truth is revealed, and as the two get to know each other, a bond begins to form. A fateful decision at a diner on the way to the Assignment center will change both of their lives forever. As Mike gets used to life in the Anthrostate, he faces culture shock, grief at the loss of his past life, and all the challenges of navigating a relationship with an eight foot tall hyena.
