Izuku Midoriya is already close to collapsing: exhausted, injured and burning with a high fever.
When Katsuki finds him during patrol — completely soaked — he fully intends to drag the stubborn nerd back home. But Izuku refuses desperately. What starts as just another screaming match quickly turns into something far worse as they anticipated.

Hard enough that Izuku violently doubled over with a strangled gasp, fingers clawing against the side of his skull before another ragged cough tore through him. Blood splattered across the stones and Katsuki’s stomach dropped.
“Fuck, Dek—!”
Not good. Not fucking good at all. His gut almost turned inside out, and it was as if bricks or stones, or maybe cars — just something very heavy, landed directly inside his intestines. Because why the fuckin' hell was there so much blood?

Summary
“What I really want to talk about is your quirk. Your actual quirk,” All Might says nervously. “You are not quirkless, my boy. You never were. That quirk is not a part of One For All.” All Might takes a deep breath and tells Izuku all about the origin of One For All and the evil man who created it. He pauses for a moment at the end of the story. "Young Midoriya, can you tell me about your father?”
Izuku blanches. “I— what? Why?” he demands. But he knows where this is going, he knows what he can do, he just desperately wishes it’s not true.
“You have his quirk, my boy. You have All For One.”
TLDR: One for All forces the manifestation of Izuku's original quirk. The one he inherited from his father.

Hummingbirds: Commonly seen as a metaphor of hope and new beginning. In some cultures are are seen as a spirit of someone or something lost, returning to say goodbye.
Izuku followed the beam of sunlight to the barred window at the top of the wall, the flash of green flickered again and then he saw it. A hummingbird sat drinking on his flower.
Huh, Izuku thought, It looks happy, free, I wish I could fly free like that.
Suddenly the door slammed open, the sound echoing around the room, making him flinch and turn to face it.Or
When Izuku was in need of a hero most, no one came to save him, so he saved himself. Now he is free and just maybe, he can become the hero that he wishes saved him.
