"Derek… I've been keeping something from you… and I think you're ready to know." The King said with such seriousness, the way Avery used to talk.
"What is it? Does it have something to do with Avery?"
"Yes, actually." The King replied, and for the first time, Derek truly cared about what it had to say. "The truth is… Avery… is me!" It grinned.
"What?" Derek exclaimed. "You're really gonna get my hopes up, just to tell a blatant lie!"
"No, no, I'm not lying!" It said. "Crap. This is all going wrong. Okay. Basically, when I took Avery as my vessel, I didn't take over him. No, we merged. So now, I'm a combination of the King and Avery."

Avery and the King in Yellow merged, and took over the world. It didn't allow Derek to die, instead forcing him to live in its castle and watch as it ruins the world.

When Leo arrived at his stasis, he was proven right. It being found was no accident, and his paranoia was more than justified. The void trap could only be the work of Spoke.
But when Leo finally realized what the other pearl meant, he laughed. Oh, Spoke had made things too easy. All Leo had to do was make a few adjustments to the void trap, and Spoke's life would be in his hands.
There was so much he'd be able to do with Spoke gone. He could build up his team, bring it back to how BAT was in the glory days. He and his teammates-
He didn't have any teammates anymore.
What was even waiting for him after Spoke's death?

Leo checks his stasis and finds the void trap Spoke planned to drop him into, with Spoke's pearl next to his own. He knows he needs Spoke dead, but there's nothing left for him after that. He sets a trap to kill them both.

Summary
When someone rigs Flame's base to splash him with an exploited infinite duration weakness 255 potion, he expects it to be an easy fix, right? Just drink some milk or pop a totem?
Unfortunately, no matter what he tries, there doesn't seem to be any easy way to get rid of the effect.
When Flame can no longer rely on the combat skills he usually depends on, and when every fight is inherently an uphill battle, will he be able to survive and still find a way to be strong?
And will he be able to figure out who did this to him, find a cure, or seek his revenge?
