    Summary

    Clint Barton falls in love with a recruit he's training against SHIELD regulations, and they decide to have a relationship anyway. This is how they get there and a snapshot of life in the tower.

    This is a somewhat AU version of the MCU, because I wanted the characters I used. Mainly the events of The Winter Soldier happened differently. Bucky was saved, and SHIELD is still intact with Fury at the helm, and officially all of Hydra's operatives have been rooted out from their ranks. The reader is a receptive telepath that has been recruited by SHIELD, ideally to make the official story reality. For now, Fury doesn't trust her and doesn't want her having all of access to all of SHIELD's secrets, so she lives at Avengers Tower and trains with Clint and Nat as their recruit. Also, Laura Barton is Clint's widowed sister, he's single.

    I will have a content warning in the notes before each the chapter that needs it. The violence isn't really that graphic, but I'm erring heavily on the side of caution because it is happening to kids. I'm trying to figure out a way to make the Black Widow Training easily skipable, because it's only a paragraph, but it's pretty graphic.
