Summary
Sharpness has always believed he is destined for something great.
A legendary warrior who’d charge fearlessly into tidal waves of enemies with nothing but a trusted blade in his hands and his kingdom’s glory and recognition in his heart. He’d weave and slash through them all with grace and immense prowess until nothing stood in front of the way he paved from their bodies. And when he returns to his nation, victory in tow, people everywhere would sing his name with praise and admiration and his king would bestow him a medal of honor
Those were dreams he had for as long as he could remember.
But now, as he lugs his personal luggage up the grand staircase leading up to the resplendent palace, Sharpness feels like he failed himself. A crumpled piece of paper lies in his palms: it’s a letter penned from the king’s advisor, inviting him to the palace to formally become the 2nd prince’s personal guard per king’s order.

The war has ceased, an invasion successfully prevented. The reign still remains to the shieldless empire. The said faction was believed to be superior and tyrannical. Perhaps the defeat was a political movement, the Shieldless empire was nothing but a scum dressed up in fancy and arrogance.
The An-Tai party has been declared defeated, all the members are in shambles, some have met their demise, others escaped heavily scathed, most have been imprisoned.
Especially their knight. Sharpness.

“Who’s there?” He snapped, scanning the trees. “Show yourself. Now, or I’ll hack you to bits.”
Silence.
His eyes narrowed, his fingers tightening around the hilt of his sword.
“I’m not playing.” He warned, “I’m going to attack if you don’t appear in three…”
He slid out his sword from the sheath.
“Two…”
The diamond blade rose high above his head, ready to descend in a sweeping forward arc.
“One!-”
“Wait-wait, Jude, it’s me Sharp, stop!”
