Summary
A red light cast over the two. Grian and Mumbo were away from the rest of the server, and pretty happy about it. All they had to do was finish the Ghast farm, and they could head home to the Southlands and feel accomplished.
It was not meant to be.
One tragedy later, the two face off not sure how to move forward. Mumbo just wants to get out of there.
Grian? Well, he knows one thing: He and Mumbo are still going to be friends. No matter what.

Of all the colors, Mumbo misses red the most.
Red was Grian’s favorite color. Some days, he’ll catch himself staring longingly at a rose or an apple, trying desperately to remember how it felt to see red.
Back when the incident was still fresh and new, Mumbo would dream in color. Now, though, he dreams mostly in shades of gray. Sometimes he wakes up with the memory of blues, purples, greens, pinks fading from his mind. He’ll stare up at his dark roof and try to retain as much of it as he can, but in the end it bleeds away - like it did that day - and he’s back to his world of black and white.
In actuality, it’s not the lack of color that really bothers Mumbo. Sure, not being able to see color can make it difficult for him to redstone since he uses wool for pathways, but that’s something he can overcome.
What really bothers Mumbo is what the lack of color means.
It’s been a few years since the incident, and most days are fine - but really nothing can prepare someone for losing their soulmate.

Summary
Grian has always been incredible at disappearing and reappearing in people's lives. It wasn't like he tried to do it most of the time, it just happened. Before he'd even arrived on Hermitcraft season six he'd already met Mumbo and Scar on two separate and isolated occasions. Neither of them knew that they knew the same blond parrot hybrid with an affinity for building. And of course he'd known his siblings for a long time, disappearing at a young age from their lives and reappearing later on a shared server, only to be thrown into the deep end later.
There had always been a life he'd promised to never disappear from, and that was the life of his semi-adopted kid who he saw a bit too much of himself in. Only, he never had a good grip on his disappearing act.
Or: This is what happens when I find a bunch of random ideas that roam around in my head for to long in a tornado and create a fic without my permission. So here...
A mixture of Evo lore, YHS lore, Dream smp lore, Scar and Grian being married and literally no one knowing but them, and probably a lot more.Yes, I'm doing a another Tommyinnit on the hermitserver...I had to much fun doing the last one.
