She looked around, taking in the bed, neatly made. She looked at the desk, Daedalus's laptop sitting carefully atop it. A twinge of relief hit her. Evidently it hadn't been lost in the fall. A hairbrush lay on the sink, and her dresser drawers were all closed. No doubt if she opened them she would see her clothing, neatly folded and organized.
Overall, everything looked so... normal.
Normal.
Something about the word made her choke. Because this wasn't normal. None of it was.

Jason seemed to realize Percy was staring at him, and calmed down considerably, clearing his throat. “Um, anyways. You…you wanna go get coffee or something, before we switch?”
Percy blinked. “Aren’t you trying to go to sleep?”
“Yes, well.” He wrung his hands, looking at Percy. “There’s– I think we both need to do some talking.”
A pause, and Percy raised an eyebrow at the younger, contemplating it for a few seconds.
“Uh– sure. Alright. Let’s do it.”
[Percy is Roman. Jason is Greek. The world keeps on spinning.]

Piper lifted her hands in protest, suddenly having to bite back a surge of slightly hysterical laughter. After all these years, she really should have anticipated that this would be their response. Oops. “Guys, guys, calm down! I'm not injured!” When matching skeptical eyebrows lifted into the air, she had to fight her amusement even harder. “I swear! I just had a bad night and I…I didn't want to be by myself, that's all."'
