His life is punctuated with short flings, but that's all it ever is. Short, fleeting, easy to walk away from. But there was once a time, and there was once a girl. Before he buried his life in work and before he killed Simon Riley.
A time when Simon could almost picture himself having a life like Tommy's, with a beautiful wife and maybe even a kid running around the kitchen. Something permanent with someone who'd nestled herself in his heart and taken a long look around. It was unfortunate that things ended the way they had, but Simon didn't regret leaving her, nor did he regret wiping any trace of her from his life.
That's what he thought he'd done, at least, but it turns out he'd neglected to change his emergency contact.

Laying down on the soft cushions, you peer over to the fireplace. You should stoke it but it should last another hour as a low flame. The crackling sound of the burning wood fills your ears, you focus on the sound and soon enough you are steadily asleep, your back thanking you for the respite.Suddenly, you sit up at the sound of knocking at the front door. Through the frosted glass you can see a black large mass obscuring the dwindling sunlight outside.
