She had to be freezing. At least she wasn't in the rain, only getting misted from the wind blowing droplets in.
"I, erm..." What was he supposed to say? Hi, I'm your daughter, all grown up. She'd not believe that. She was traumatized, not stupid. He didn't want to lie, either. Not to her. "Simon. I'm... Simon..." He settled for the truth. At least part of it. "He won't, erm, won't bother you. Anymore." Ghost normally didn't struggle so much for words, but seeing his mum regard him with fear as she was, it was unsettling and threw him off. He wanted nothing but to hug her.
Ghost wasn't sure how he'd gotten here, in the past, faced with his younger self at age twelve, but he was sure of one thing; he was going to give himself and his younger brother a better life than they'd originally had.
